This includes the marketing communication with a more empathetic communication approach. The last point mentioned is increased automation and my view is that this an area that the retail industry winners can be bold and leap ahead. Technology, systems, and the ability to automate have moved at great pace during the past decade, yet many retailers have cherry-picked with large parts of their organisation still operating with inefficient and antiquated systems and processes. Today just about everything can be partially or fully automated and in this race to new retail efficiency this will have to be high on the to-do list.
